Charles McMaster D.C.
Doctor of Chiropractic
Provides specialist assessment and treatment for a range of spinal and joint problems.
What is chiropractic?
Chiropractic literally means to do with the hand. It is a manual therapy which deals with conditions that are due to problems with the joints, muscles and nerves of the body, particularly the spine.
All the treatment is done by hand and does not involve the use of drugs or surgery. The chiropractor will find joints that are not working properly, muscles that are tight or in spasm and nerves that are not operating correctly and use manipulation and soft tissue techniques to improve their function and reduce pain.
Chiropractors are primary healthcare professionals, which means you do not need to be referred to see the chiropractor, you can make an appointment directly with the clinic.
To be able to call themselves a chiropractor a person must be registered with the statutory regulatory body, the General Chiropractic Council (GCC). All chiropractors are also members of a professional association.
Charles uses a technique called diversified adjusting to treat many conditions. In addition to that he is trained in a technique called SOT, which uses gentle, low force muslce stretches, pelvic blocking and cranial adjustments to treat pelvic imbalances, leg length differences and other complaints.
